German side provide starter ahead of the Mainz

Rotherham will conclude their preparations for the 2015-16 campaign with a high-profile friendly against German Bundesliga outfit FSV Mainz 05.

Die Nullfünfer will visit AESSEAL New York Stadium on Saturday August 1, a week before the Sky Bet Championship gets underway, bringing to a close their pre-season friendlies.

The German side, managed by Christian Heidel, finished 11th in the Bundesliga last season, losing to champions Bayern Munich on the final game of the season.

Their trip to South Yorkshire will complete their pre-season preparations, which will also include friendlies with St-Ettiene and Monaco, ahead of their season-opener with Cottbus in the German Polkal.

It is the Millers' second home friendly of pre-season following three days after the visit of Claudio Ranieri's Leicester City.

Steve Evans' men begin their second season in the Championship against MK Dons on Saturday 8 August.
