Rotherham v MK Dons: The Stats

Rotherham will be hoping for their first ever win over MK Dons when they go head-to-head in the Sky Bet Championship campaign opener on Saturday.

The Millers have not won any of their six meetings with the Dons since their formation in 2004, losing two and drawing four.

They last met in the 2013/14 season when Rotherham were beaten 3-2 at stadiummk and drew 2-2 in their final regular home game of the campaign.

The five goals they scored in the two meetings in that season mean that they have scored just once in four other meetings with the Milton Keynes club.

Both sides finished last season strongly, with the Millers going four games unbeaten in their run-in to confirm Championship survival and the MK Dons winning their final five to surge to automatic promotion from League One.

Matt Derbyshire was Rotherham's top scorer with 10 goals while Will Grigg banged in 22 for the Dons.

Rotherham have had a mixed set of results from their last 30 opening day results, winning 11, losing 11 and drawing eight.

Their biggest win in that time was a 6-0 triumph at Millwall in 2002, with the biggest defeat coming at the hands of Shrewsbury in 1994 as they slipped to a 4-0 loss at Millmoor.

Last season, they went down to a 1-0 loss at Derby, with that game against the Lions the only time they have won on the opening day of a second tier season since 1966.
