Rotherham have received an injury boost with news that defender Stephen Kelly's calf strain is not as bad as first thought.
The 32-year-old sustained the problem in last week's 3-0 win over Bristol City and he limped off in the 44th minute.
Boss Neil Redfearn feared he could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but the extent of the injury is not too serious, though the former Republic of Ireland international remains a doubt for Saturday's visit of Wolves.
Redfearn said: "It’s a calf strain. It’s not
as bad as first feared, it’s a grade one, but it’s days rather than weeks which
is good news because Stephen has been a big influence on what has happened
recently.
"It's a shame to lose him - and whether he will be fit for
Saturday, we don't know - but he's been a massive signing for us."
The Millers boss had previously spoken of his frustration at losing Kelly, which came hot on the heels of fellow new signing Leon Best's three-game ban.
"It's a bit disappointing obviously because we’ve got Best in and he’s out for three games through suspension and then Kells gets an injury," he said.
"I think just having them here gave us a lift during the international break, gave us a lift against Leeds and gave us a lift on Saturday.
"They’re proper players. They’ve come in and they’re the right types. They’ve given the place a lift."
