Rotherham loanee Luke Hyam recalled by Ipswich
Rotherham loanee Luke Hyam has been recalled by parent club
Ipswich.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been at New York since the
end of November and made five appearances for the Millers, two of them starts.
However, Mick McCarthy’s side have triggered a recall option
in the deal in order to boost their numbers ahead of the busy festive period.
Hyam’s last appearance for the Millers came in Saturday’s
impressive 2-0 win over Hull and he is in contention to Ipswich’s Boxing Day
clash with QPR.
Millers boss Neil Redfearn said: “Mick has injuries and it
is coming into a time when he needs his players back.
“There is a recall clause available to Ipswich so we have to
respect their option to bring Luke back.
“I would like to thank Mick McCarthy and Ipswich Town for
allowing us to take Luke here. I would also like to thank Luke for his service
to us; he did a great job for the club during the time he was here.
“I thought he was outstanding in the victory over Hull City last
Saturday and we wish him all the best for the future.”
