Tipping doomster Ian Holloway backs another Rotherham defeat at Preston

After a brief step into the pro-Rotherham United camp, Sky Sports pundit Ian Holloway has reverted to type by backing them to lose at Preston on Saturday.

Having used to his prediction column to tip a Millers win for the first time this season in their Boxing Day clash with Bolton, he is back doing what he does best for their next outing.

His prediction that Rotherham will lose 1-0 at Deepdale on Saturday is the 13th time the former Millwall manager has backed them to lose this season.

He believes departing Preston loan goalkeeper Jordan Pickford will inspire victory for Simon Grayson's men before returning to Sunderland.

He said: "This match could prove the last appearance for the on-loan Jordan Pickford, who could return to Sunderland.

"He is an absolutely outstanding English goalkeeper and is one of the main reasons why Preston have the fifth best defensive record in the league.

"I love when a young player goes out on loan and gets playing. Just look at Jack Butland - he went on loan to Birmingham, Leeds and Derby and he now looks a world beater. Pickford can take great heart from Butland's achievements.

"Rotherham and Neil Redfearn deserve huge credit for the run they've been on but Preston have already won 1-0 four times at home this season - they should make it five to give Pickford the perfect clean sheet send off."

From his 13 tips, Holloway has got 10 right, though rarely does he make a prediction when the Millers are playing a side around them in the table.
