Rotherham 1 Charlton 4: Player ratings
Rotherham
reminded everyone just how bad they can be as they slumped to a
season's-worst performance against Charlton, who sauntered to a 4-1
win at New York Stadium.
On
a day of no positives, the Millers missed the chance to pull away
from relegation trouble.
Here's
how the players rated, with the chance to add your own.
Lee
Camp 6 – Would have been a far heavier defeat but for Camp, who
produced a fine save to deny Johnnie Jackson's free-kick.
Shay
Facey 5 – Was caught out for Charlton's first goal and offers very little as an attacking threat. Not sure we have seen him pass it forward yet.
Kirk
Broadfoot 5 – A rare off-day for Broadfoot whose lack of pace was
repeatedly exposed by a fast Charlton side. Poor on the ball as well
in a day to forget.
Farrend
Rawson 6 – Recalled in the absence of Aimen Belaid and was the
dominant presence, performing a number of last-ditch tackles and
crucial interceptions.
Joe
Mattock 6 – Solid from the left-back, who is the Millers' most
reliable player of late, but failed to have the same impact going
forward.
Chris
Burke 6 – Although a home debut goal gave the Millers parity at
1-1, Burke did not show his best, unable to make use of his
experience and skill.
Paul
Green 6 – Did not let anybody down but the game passed him by and
was also guilty of wasting the ball.
Richie
Smallwood 5 – His usual battling self but was particularly poor on
the ball.
Joe
Newell 5 – A poor afternoon for Newell, whose form has dropped from
a few weeks ago. Was as guilty as anyone of wasting the ball and was
taken off before the hour.
Grant
Ward 5 – If this is Ward's last game of his loan spell then he went
out on a low. Continuously gave the ball away, trying to do too much
and missed a fine chance to give the Millers the lead at 1-1.
Danny
Ward 6 – Played in three positions, but did little of note in any
of them. He was unliuc
Luciano
Becchio 5 – Brought on at half-time but did not get in the game
other than not being able to capitalise on his only chance.
Andrew
Shinnie 6 – Showed glimpses of his quality on the ball, but did not
have too much of an impact.
Jonson Clarke-Harris 4 – Won a penalty but then skied it and spent the
rest of the game trying to make up for it, squandering a number of
chances.
