Rotherham striker Danny Ward's latest injury concern not serious

Rotherham striker Danny Ward's latest injury scare is not serious boss Neil Redfearn has revealed.

The injury-prone frontman, whose run of seven successive starts is the most he has managed in 12 months at the club, went down injured in the second half of Saturday's 3-0 defeat to QPR and then was replaced in the 55th minute.

However, the injury is unlikely to keep him out of this weekend's clash at Cardiff and boss Redfearn admitted he took him off because he looked jaded.

“He took a whack to the top of his foot,” Redfearn said.

“To be fair to Danny, he put a right old shift in and he’s done that lone striker’s role as well when we’ve played one up top. I just thought he looked a little bit tired.”

One man who will not be playing any part at Cardiff is Harry Toffolo.

The on-loan Norwich left-back has returned to his parent club at the end of his three-month stay in South Yorkshire.

The 20-year-old made seven appearances for the Millers but was never able to recreate the heights of his debut against Reading in October and owing to the impressive form of Joe Mattock, did not pull on the red and white shirt after playing 90 minutes against Wolves on December 5.

Toffolo praised Redfearn - a coach renowned for developing young talent - on Twitter, saying: "Thank you @OfficialRUFC for my time there! All the best for the rest of the season, great bunch of lads and very good manager!"
