Steve Evans' Maguire comments unsettle Sheffield Wednesday fans on Twitter

Rotherham boss Steve Evans has a happy knack of throwing a few comments about in the media that he knows will wind up opposition fans.

And he’s been at it again, speaking about his new signing Chris Maguire – a former Sheffield Wednesday player.

However, the quotes were hardly disparaging to the Owls as he offered his opinion that Maguire would be a “big loss to the club on the other side of the motorway”, before adding that “he’s certainly a big gain to us.”


It is hardly the sort of sharp-tongued jibe that he came out with in the aftermath of the 3-2 defeat to the Owls in March, where he accused them of lacking class, yet it has still got Wednesday fans’ knickers in a twist on Twitter.
