Rotherham face frustration in the transfer market

Rotherham manager Neil Redfearn revealed his side are struggling to get transfer deals over the line.

The Millers have already brought in Aimen Belaid and Alex Cairns in the January transfer window, but are on the lookout for more additions as they battle against the drop in the Championship.

However, they are coming up against frustration in the market, not helped by the FA Cup and a midweek league round clogging up the fixture list, and arrivals before the weekend look unlikely.

Redfearn is refusing to lose patience, though, and won't look beyond his A-list targets.

"We are still on with it, it's a little bit frustrating but we are in the same place as most other clubs.

"What we don't want to do is bring players in just for the sake of bringing them in.

"The players we have identified as the ones we want to get in we are having a little bit of trouble getting them over the line but these are the players we want because we feel they are going to make us better.

"That's what we said from day one, we don't want to just make do. We are nearly there but I'd rather it take two or three days later and get the players that we want rather than get players in that don't fit what we need.

"It's frustrating but we have to abide by the parent clubs of the players. I am pretty sure that they will happen sooner rather than later."
