Rotherham manager Steve Evans saw his side earn their first point of the season against Preston on Tuesday, but felt they should have won all three.
The Millers, who lost their first two Championship games of the season conceding six goals in the process, stopped the rot with a stalemate against Simon Grayson's side at New York Stadium.
But they were far from their best and rarely looked like scoring, even though they improved after the break, and they did not have a shot on target throughout the 90 minutes.
Instead, it was Preston who looked the more likely as Bailey Wright hit the crossbar and Neil Kilkenny brought a flying save out of Kelle Roos.
However, Evans still felt it was his side that were unlucky not to win.
"We will take our first point," he said. "The first 60 minutes
is not a good game for either side, no side had any dominance, both
sides just cancelled each other out.
"I just thought the game needed a
spark in the game. I think over the 90 we are very unfortunate not to
win the game when you look at us laying siege to their box for large
parts of the last 20 minutes, it is disappointing we have only got a
point.
"But that's a good Preston side out there. They had some heroic
defending in their box, balls across the goal, they have had some
heroic defending without the goalkeeper being called on.
"I've seen
him coming up the tunnel slapping the backs of his two central
defenders and so he should do.
"The boys worked tremendously hard but they just
seemed to be down a yard from Saturday. I said to them at half-time
it just looked a nervous performance, people didn't want to move,
take the ball or pass and move.
"That's what we are good at but we
never got that until the last 20 minutes.
"We didn't get the goal but we'll take the point,
the first of the season and a first clean sheet as well.
"That's good,
so we will go down to QPR on Saturday and try and cause an upset."
