Neil Redfearn ready to get ruthless as he prepares for squad overhaul
Rotherham boss Neil Redfearn is ready to get "brutal" as he tries to trim his squad down.
The Millers have not won since Redfearn took over at the Millers and he has been on the look-out for new additions for much of his four weeks at the helm.
As well as bringing fresh blood in, the former Leeds boss will try and ship the players who aren't getting a game out of the club.
They are likely to include Greg Halford and Emmanuel Ledesma, among others, but Redfearn is not afraid to begin the overhaul process.
"For their benefit, they need to go and further their careers," said of those not getting regular action. "If it's not going to be here, they need to go and crack on with their careers somewhere else.
"We've got to freshen things up. We've got to get better players in. We've got to get players who can deal with this level.
"We've got to improve the standard. This is a process. We're not the only club that's going to do this. We're not the only club in history in the Championship that's gone through this.
"We've got to be brave and we've got to do it. If we want to stay in this division and then go and compete at the other end, we've got to start the process now.
"Sometimes it's quite brutal and it's ruthless, but you've got to do it."
