The games keep coming thick and fast for Rotherham as they aim to break their 2015/16 points duck when Preston visit on Tuesday.
The Millers have good recent memories against North End at home and they will be desperate to register their first point of the season.
Here's five things to look out for in the clash.
How is Kelle Roos' confidence?
Boss Steve Evans has been forced to come out and defend goalkeeper Kelle Roos for the second successive week after his poor handling of Chris Burke's cross gifted Nottingham Forest a winner in Saturday's clash at the City Ground. It has been a difficult start to his Millers career after his nightmare debut against MK Dons and despite some impressive saves at the City Ground and keeping a clean sheet against Cambridge last week, the youngster's confidence could be affected. After all, his errors have been highlighted in the media and some supporters have been fiercely vocal in their criticism. Evans has been forthright in his support of Roos, claiming anyone who criticises him doesn't know about football, and confirmed he will definitely play against Preston, but question marks certainly remain about Roos' suitability for the role. A big performance, and a clean sheet on Tuesday, will go a long way to proving the doubters wrong.
Getting points on the board
While the season is in its embryonic stage and promotions can't be won or relegation can't be suffered in August, it goes without saying that Rotherham need to get up and running on the points board as soon as possible. The Millers have targeted a mid-table finish this season and one of the ways to achieve that was by having a decent opening in games which, on paper at least, looked winnable. It hasn't started out that way, but Evans will be desperate for his side to get the three points on the board and get the season going, if only to end the losing the streak. We saw in 2004/05 - and last season with Blackpool - the danger of going on a long winless run at the start of the campaign and it is imperative the Millers do not go down that road. There has been plenty of doom and gloom after the first two games, but if they can get a win on Tuesday, they will have exactly the same amount of points as they did from their first three games last year.
Can we have a settled back four please?
One of the things that undermined the Millers last season was their chopping and changing in defence, with Evans fielding 21 different back four combinations in 48 games. That was never going to breed stability and led to a particularly leaky goals against tally. This season has already seen three different back fours in the first three games and Evans has to decide his first-choice unit as soon as possible. He has almost certainly now got his two first-choice full-backs out there in Lewis Buxton and Joe Mattock - if the left-back can handle two games in four days after his injury problem - while Danny Collins and Greg Halford have been the central pairing for the last two games. Tom Thorpe, who Evans lavished praise on in pre-season, and the highly-rated Farrend Rawson are back in the mix, while Kirk Broadfoot is now only seven games away from a return. If Collins and Halford are his first choice then Evans has to stick to his guns and give them a run of games in that position.
Putting it right on home soil
The Millers' home campaign could not have started any worse than it did against MK Dons. As it was last season, their form on their own patch is going to be crucial to how the Millers fare this time around and they have to make it a difficult place to come. Therefore it is imperative they build on their Capital One Cup win over Cambridge and get their first league success. To do that they will have to improve their conversion rate. Against the Dons they rained in 15 shots on goal, which ended in just one goal, and it was that profligacy with the game poised at 1-1 that cost them.
Breaking Preston's deadlock
The Millers certainly cannot afford too many missed chances against Preston on the basis that they are unlikely to create a huge amount. Simon Grayson's men are yet to concede a goal in their opening two games of their Championship return, shutting out promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough in a stalemate and then beating MK Dons 1-0 on Saturday. On the early evidence it looks as if Preston could be okay this season, though only scoring one goal might be a problem for Grayson.
